We provide a selection of textiles created on foot looms in a weaver's home or workshop and on back-strap looms held taught between a tree or post and a kneeling woman's back. A typical design on a back-strap loom can take up to three months to weave. Often, weavings are joined together by hand embroidery to make wider pieces.
Textile pieces make wonderful table runners, wall hangings and some can even be framed for display. Narrow strips of weaving can even be used to hang earrings from to keep them orderly.
These are beautiful and colorful pieces of work that hold up well to washing with like colors. Items that are likely to run or bleed are so noted.
